Garage & Floor Coating

What we do, and how we do it

Floor coatings fail for one reason: they were applied to concrete that was never opened up. A slab that has been sitting under cars for twenty years is sealed, oil-stained and slick, and a coating rolled straight onto it will peel off in sheets the first time a hot tire sits on it. We diamond-grind the surface to a proper profile, degrease what is contaminated, and grind out or patch the cracks and spalls before anything gets mixed.

We coat residential garages, workshops, basements, and light commercial and service floors. Full-flake, partial-flake and solid-color systems are all options, finished with a clear topcoat that takes the abrasion. The photo on this page is a garage at exactly this stage — walls finished and painted, slab ground down and prepped, ready for the coating to go on.

Our Process

Our Floor Coating Process

Four steps, in this order, every time.
  1. 1

    Assess the slab

We check for moisture, existing sealers, oil contamination, cracks and spalling — all of which change what the floor needs and what it will cost.

  2. 2

    Grind and degrease

Diamond grinding to open the concrete to a proper profile, with contaminated areas degreased so the coating bonds to concrete rather than to residue.

  3. 3

    Patch and repair

Cracks chased out and filled, spalls and pits patched, and control joints handled deliberately rather than coated over and forgotten.

  4. 4

    Coat and topcoat

Base coat applied, flake broadcast if you have chosen it, then scraped back and sealed with a clear topcoat rated for the traffic.
